Hi Everyone!
Thanks for everyone who signed up for this newsletter in the past week or so! I appreciate all the love and support - it means a lot on these snowy mornings.
Crazy story from this morning. I got an amazing offer on UpWork, my new side hustle, and thought it was too good to be true. Turns out, it was. Luckily I realized it was a scam before anything happened. BUT the scammer was trying to use an actual company down in Arizona to get away with it.
I called the real company and pressed a random extension just trying to talk to someone to figure this all out- turns out the extension I pressed was the President of the company. We’ve been emailing all morning, trying to help him get this taken care of so his company’s name isn’t dragged through the mud.
Of course, I had to shoot my shot with him! What are the odds that I would (accidentally, on the first try) be connected to the President! I let him know if he ever needs some freelance work, I’m his girl.
Small world!! (Probably will write a funny story about this on Medium later)
Speaking of Medium!
Here are some recent stories I wrote that could use all the love they can get:
Dear Spotify, I Didn't Need A Reminder This Year Was Rough
I had a lot of fun writing this one. Although the topic is more serious, I was able to put a creative twist on it. Probably my most creative piece so far, I’m glad I took the risk to publish it!
A story about how I went from someone who ABSOLUTELY hated lube and felt so insecure about using it to someone who loves it.
A Threesome I Never Intended To Have
So this piece was very emotional for me to write. It’s about my relationship with my current partner and how him being in the military was really challenging for me (and our relationship). Lots of lows and lessons learned in this one. Very close to my heart.
First piece on Medium to get curated for THREE topics, woah!!! Relationships, women, and equality.
I Used Tinder 24 Hours After Dumping My Ex
“I spent the past two years being emotionally and sexually devoted to one person. Even though I had emotionally disconnected from the relationship months ago, it still felt weird being with someone else.”
If You Won't Hire Me Because Of My Writing...I Probably Don't Want To Work For You
“Truthfully, I am not that worried about my writing because I hope my generation continues to revolutionize the workplace. I am optimistic that future employers will be more accepting and tolerant than executives today.”
Have a wonderful week and hopefully a scam free one!
Thanks for following me on Medium, and please consider giving me a follow over on Twitter, too!
You can now also buy me a coffee if you feel like my work deserves more love!
Much love,
Faith
