Happy Monday Everyone!!
Hopefully, you aren’t quite as tired as I am (if you’re in the states and you are as tired, only three days of work!!) After a long weekend of traveling, I am quite drained and excited for my third cup of coffee.
I want to start off by saying thank you so much for subscribing to my email list. I’ve only been writing on Medium for a month as of tomorrow and I am so grateful for all the love and support I have received. I’ve even become a Top Writer for LGBTQ!! After having several rough months, finding a community of fellow writers and people who click on my stories is a well-needed dose of serotonin. So thank you for reading and for signing up for my email list:)
Here are some stories I’ve written recently that I hope you’ll like:
Take Your Kids To See Frozen 2
This piece is especially close to my heart, so it can use all the love it can get! As an environmental justice researcher, I was ecstatic to see Disney collaborating with the Sámi people and illuminating some of the dark realities of indigenous erasure and discrimination. This article urges people to use Frozen 2 as a starting point for learning about Sámi culture and a major historical injustice, the Alta Dam Controversy.
The Victoria Secret Fashion Show Is Problematic
A social commentary piece about the Victoria Secret Fashion Show and how despite its problems, I am still going to miss it. The fashion show presented easy accessibility to the fashion world and female empowerment/comradery. Hopefully, Savage X Fenty will fill this void!
Birth Control Is For Slutty, Straight Women
As a bisexual woman, I’ve had come across discrimination for using birth control for health reasons. A short read about my experiences and the miseducation of birth control.
Nipple Piercings Changed My Sex Life
And lastly, a fun read about how after 6 years, I am still in love with my nipple piercings!
Have a wonderful week and hopefully a not so stressful holiday (if you’re celebrating or just enjoying time off).
Thanks for following me on Medium, and please consider giving me a follow over on Twitter, too!
You can now also buy me a coffee if you feel like my work deserves more love!
Much love,
Faith
